ages 14 and under
Dave
combines over three decades of coaching and
instructing. He has earned awards throughout
the Greater Cleveland area including the 1998
AAU Coach of the Year. An outstanding
coach in both men’s & youth organizations,
his dedication has sent young men onto college
scholarships as well as professional contract
signings. In 1995, his “14 &
Under” Puritas / Fielder’s Choice
team won the Division I Dizzy Dean and NBC State
Championships. They placed 3rd
in the World Series representing
Ohio as
well as being honored with the Sportsmanship
Award. In his 30th year of
coaching baseball, his “14 & Under”
Fielder’s Choice team finished 2nd
in the CABA World Series and had an overall
record of 79-13-1. |

| Joe
Charboneau
specialties:
hitting and fielding
“Super
Joe” Charboneau debut with the Cleveland Indians
in 1980, splitting time between left field and being
a designated hitter. Joe had a team leading 23 home
runs, 87 runs batted in and a .289 batting average
earning him the 1980 American League Rookie of the
Year award. He has had a book written about him
along with a song “Go Joe Charboneau”
which was a big hit on the local charts. A back
injury in a spring training game in 1981, which
he never fully recovered, led to him being released
from the Indians in 1983. Although Joe has been
through a number of other injuries, he was still
able to get a hit in professional baseball in 4
decades (70’s, 80’s, 90’s, 00’s).
Along with doing clinics and lessons, Joe has also
been a minor-league hitting coach for the past eight
years. Come see one of the Cleveland Indians top
100 favorite players of all time.

| Chris
Mongiardo

Chris
has a background both as a player and coach in college
and professional baseball. After playing at Kent
State University for four years (1991-1995), he
was an Assistant Coach at Kent in 1996. In 1997-1998,
Chris was the Pitching Coach at Allegheny College
(NCACC Champs 1997). He was a player and then managed
12 games for the Canton Crocodiles of the Independent
Frontier League in 1999. 2000-2001, Chris was the
Head Baseball Coach at Lakeland Community College.
In 2001-2002, he did double duty as the Pitching
& Hitting Coach for the Richmond Roosters (Back
to back Frontier League Titles) and was the Pitching
Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for Florida Southern
College (Made 2 World Series). Chris then went on
to be the Hitting Coach at Polk Community College,
in Winter Haven, FL 2003-2004. He then was the Manager
of the Richmond Roosters Frontier League 2003-2005
and Pitching Coach for the Gary Railcats in 2006.
Along with being the FC's 18U Connie Mack head coach,
Chris continues to be an Assistant Coach / Recruiting
Coordinator at Lakeland Community College and a
Player / Pitching Coach for the San Angelo Colts
of the United Professional Baseball League in Texas
from 2007-2009. Currently the Pitching Coach for
the Lake County Fielder's in the Independent Northern
League. |

Babin

Becky
was a 4-year Fast Pitch Softball letter winner at
Akron St. Vincent St. Mary High School where she
was a 3-time All-City Selection along with Honorable
Mention All-Ohio for 2 years. She is the season
and career leader in homeruns & doubles at St.V.
In 2000, she was a member of the North American
Select Indoor Fast Pitch Team that played in
France
for the World Indoor Fast Pitch Cup. She played
on the “Grand Slam” summer travel team
in 1999 that won the NSA National Championship.
Becky received a scholarship to Wright State University,
where she was a 4-year starter and part of the 2003
Horizon League Champions who advanced to the NCAA
Softball Regionals. She was also named to
the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll all four
years.

Jess
Toocheck

Jess
was a 4 year starter at Medina High School, then
at Kent State University, 2008 MAC Player of the
Year, MAC All-Tournament Team, along with playing
for the Akron Racers of the National Professional
Fast Pitch League in 2008 and 2009. She teaches
in the Brunswick School System and is now the Head
Softball Coach at Medina High School. Jess is available
for hitting & fielding lessons…

Levkanich

Coach
Lev is a veteran of 27 years Cross-Country coaching
as well as 23 years of Track & Field. During
that time, his Cross-Country teams have qualified
for the State Championship meet twice and the Track
& Field teams earned a school record of 7 consecutive
District Title’s and 3 State Championships
for Benedictine High School. He also coached Baseball
for 5 years at Cuyahoga Community College, where
he worked with Fielder’s Choice instructor
and Connie Mack coach Dan Smego. At Tri-C, his areas
of responsibility included Base Running, Flexibility,
Speed Training as well as general athletic conditioning
and its implementation into baseball, both on offense
& defense. The Tri-C team set school records
for stolen bases in a season, team and individual,
as well as team base-stealing percentage. Coach
Lev is currently in his third season as a track
coach at Case Western Reserve University and will
instruct all 3 Fielder’s Choice travel teams. |

Neale

When
you think of Cleveland Slow Pitch Softball, the
Neale name is synonymous with the best teams and
players, not just locally, but worldwide. Fielder’s
Choice Baseball is very pleased to have David Jr.
as an instructor. During Dave’s legendary
career, he had played, recruited, evaluated and
chose players for 11- time National Champions Steele’s
Sports, along with local and national powers: Non
Ferrous Metals, Ohio Transport, Laborers Local 310
and Twohig A.C.. David was a 2006 elected member
of the Cleveland Slow Pitch Hall of Fame as well
as a Local, National and International clinician.

Andy
Hargrove

Andy
was a standout at St. Ignatius HS, then playing
college baseball at Oral Roberts and finishing at
Kent State University, where he was drafted in the
2005 by the Seattle Mariners, and played 3 years
in their farm system... He was previously drafted
by the Baltimore Orioles after high school, but
did not sign...If his name sounds familiar, yes
he is the son of former Cleveland Indians great
and manager, Mike Hargrove…Andy is available
for hitting, pitching and fielding lessons…

Ron
had played 5+ years with the Cleveland Indians and
also with the Texas Rangers, Chicago White Sox,
San Francisco Giants primarily as a catcher, but
also played infield & outfield...He will instruct
at FC in catching, hitting, fielding & pitching...He
has over 9 years of Major League Baseball experience
and has been doing many years of instruction…Ron
is also a Michigan State University alumni…We
welcome Ron back to Fielder’s Choice Baseball

Procuk

Coach
Jim Procuk comes to us with over 20 years coaching
experience of all ages. Currently Head Coach- Varsity
Fast Pitch Softball at Brecksville-Broadview High
School. Coach Procuks teams are known for their
agressive style of play; both on the bases and at
the plate - concentrating on 'putting the ball in
play', through slap/pudge hitting; thus putting
constant pressure on the defense. This style of
play has earned consectutive Sectional Titles '06,'07,'08,'09
at Brecksville and winning the first Division 1
Crown '09 in the schools history. Coach Procuk has
promoted many players for State wide recognition
which has earned players collegiate scholarships.
Coach Procuk was honored as "Coach Of The Year"
Southwest Conference '09 by his peers. He is eager
to pass on his knowledge and style of fast pitch
softball.
