Hitting leagues begin in the Fall and Winter, where pitching machines challenge hitters of various ages. The leagues feature two person teams, five weeks of hitting, plus playoffs. The objective is to score more points than the opposing team by hitting designated areas with the ball. This type of competition is patterned off the very successful leagues in Southern California.

Rules and Information :
Different age groups hit different speeds of pitches. Hitters in the 17-to-34-year-old division face 80-mph pitches. Those in the 15-to-17-year-old division see 70-mph pitches. The speed declines by 10 mph as each division gets younger. The 9-to-10-year-old swingers see 45-mph pitches.Each player will be scored on 16 consecutive pitches per inning for 5 innings. League standings will be determined by total number of points based on 32 pitches per inning, per team. In the event of a tie at the end of the league (5th week) or playoff, league champion will be determined by head to head competition.
Scoring System :
The point system is based on the first surface touched by the ball.

  • If you take a pitch, it will be counted and scored as zero; Wiffs are minus one; Grounders and ceiling nets are zero; Fouls and tips are zero; A Grand Slam is inside the yellow square within your cage only - 8 points; A line drive is through the hole your cage only - 5 points;
  • Balls that hit the boundary lines count for the higher point value.
